Super Eagles of Nigeria avenged their shock first leg defeat to Guinea-Bissau gratitude to a Moses Simon penalty which locked a 1-0 win in the away fixture of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers on Monday, Newsedup.com reports.
The Super Eagles, on nine points, attained the top place in Group A from Guinea-Bissau, who are second.
After taking over the early part of the first half, the Eagles cracked the deadlock for the penalty spot, which they held until the end.
Omeruo had Super Eagles’ first attempt on goal in the 2nd minute, but his header off Alex Iwobi’s cross was fluttered away for a corner.
