To support Muslim players during Ramadan, the Premier League request that the match officials permit them to break their fast in games during Iftar time.
Meanwhile, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, where able Muslims must fast and be without food or drink from dawn to sunset and break the fast at the right time.
Ramadan starts on Wednesday or Thursday. ESPN reports that the Premier League has informed match officials to allow for a natural pause in play to allow Muslim players to break their fast.
They are to take note of Muslim players that will be in action during the Iftar time. During the Iftar time, the official will pause the game to allow the Muslims who are fasting to go to the sidelines and take in liquids or energy excursus.
This decision is to ensure the Muslim Players partake in the Iftar time.
