England Squad: Rashford Exempts Self

Due to injury, Marcus Rashford has exempts himself from England’s squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Italy and Ukraine.

The 24-year-old player was part of the 25-man squad England manager Gareth Southgate named for the qualifiers, but the striker has pulled out, continuing a trend among the England squad that has also seen Mason Mount and Nick Pope exempt themselves.

Marcus Rashford received a knock in Manchester United’s 3-1 FA Cup victory over Fulham on Sunday as Manchester United progressed into the semi-finals.

Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope would also not honour his call-up, as he picked up an injury in Newcastle’s 2-1 triumph over Nottingham Forest on Friday.

Mason Mount also pulled out, as confirmed by Graham Potter. The 24-year-old missed Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Everton due to injury and is presently in recuperation.
