Seun Kuti Regains Freedom from Police Custody. His attorney confirmed this and said he was released on Tuesday.
According to his lawyer, Olumide -Fusika, SAN, this happened after meeting his bail conditions.
“Yes, Seun Kuti was released minutes ago,” he said.
Reports had it that the musician was released on Tuesday. Mr Seun’s legal counsel confirmed that the Afrobeat star had already met his bail conditions on Thursday. However, there was an extension from the court for his remanding, which ought to be respected.
“There’s no comment on the four-day extension. It’s a court decision; we’ll wait and see.”
” However, Seun Kuti’s bail conditions have been met from our side. But since there’s a court decision extending for four days, the presiding magistrate did not sign off until after,” Olumide said.
Due to the absence of the preceding magistrate, the case against him was adjourned till on Wednesday, May 24.
He will appear before the court for the proceedings adjourned to Wednesday.
