President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has met with the Security Chiefs since his inauguration as the Grand Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces (GCFR). He [President Tinubu] has demanded that the security agencies strengthen coordination and not work at cross purposes. Mr President also disclosed that his philosophy is to adopt contemporary security to advance the country’s security. He also mandated the security agencies to develop a blueprint to deal with the issue of crude oil theft.
According to Babagana Monguno, the National Security Adviser, President Bola Tinubu has made it clear that all the security agencies must comply with the demand for coordination, frequent consultation and timely reports, which must be acted on. He’s going to embark on reforms of our security architecture. He will closely examine our misfortune in our maritime domain, focusing on oil theft. The source of the problems must be crushed without delay.
Also speaking after the meeting is the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Lucky Irabor, who confirmed Mr President’s demand from the security agencies. Irabor further stated:
