Just In – Joint Security Forces have rescued two victims adopted in Ogbaru Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State. According to the State Police Public Relation Office, Ikenga Tochukwu, the rescue took place in the early hours of today. Operations are still ongoing. The attackers killed Seven persons in Tuesday’s attack on the US Consulate convoy. They were on a mission to assess the impact of erosion in the Ogbaru LGA in a convoy of 2 vehicles when they were attacked.
The Anambra State Commissioner of Police stated that the convoy comprised five male officials of the US Consulate and four armed Police Officers from Lagos. Two persons of interest have been arrested and are under interrogation. The Joint Rescue Operation that conducted by Joint Security Forces comprising a Police Tactical Team from the state command, troops of the Nigerian Army and the Navy. They raided the suspected hide-out camp in Ogbaru but met a deserted camp and razed read down the camp.
