The Interior Minister of Nigeria, Rauf Aregbesola, has urged citizens to use the N-Alerts smartphone app to report any security emergencies that may occur during the upcoming elections starting on February 25. He advised all Nigerians to download the app to quickly write any incidents in their voting unit or the surrounding area to the Ministry Inter-Agency Situation Room for a prompt response.
Speaking to personnel manning the Ministry Inter-Agency Situation Room on Friday, the minister directed officials to act quickly in cases where Nigerians using the app report security emergencies. He emphasised the importance of the app in facilitating real-time reporting of incidents and ensuring a quick response from security agencies.
The Federal Government of Nigeria developed and launched the N-Alerts app in May 2022 as a real-time alert system for Nigerians to send alerts to all security agencies in the Ministry of Interior. The government has been advertising the app in the media to encourage citizens to download and use it during the elections.
To ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians during the elections, citizens must remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. With the N-Alerts app, reporting incidents has never been easier or more efficient.
