Governor Nyesom Wike of River State has declared Wednesday, May 3, a public holiday to welcome the President-Elect, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
In a broadcast on Tuesday, the Governor stated that he wants to celebrate Tinubu on his visit to the state and intends to do it through the declaration he made.
He said the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu, would be on a 2-day visit to the state to commission some projects.
Governor Wike has ordered the closure of shops in order to give the president-elect a hospitable reception.
Wike has requested a massive turn up from the citizens of the state to welcome the President-Elect on that day.
He went further to plead with the businessmen and labour unions for their understanding, as this is his (The President’s) first visit to any state since he won the 2023 election.
