Rivers State Met a Hostile Federal Government – Wike

Rivers State met a hostile Federal government in 2015, says Governor Nyesom Wike, when he and his team came to power. This was disclosed during a live broadcast of Governor Wike’s cabinet valedictory session. According to Wike, he and his team fought the federal government without violating the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. There were lots of problems.

It was not easy, but with God, we survived.

Governor Nyesom Wike

His party chairman confirmed this when the elections were notified, from the states to national assemblies. We remained undaunted. There were re-runs. We never chickened out on speaking the truth and saying what we believed. We give the Glory.

He specially thanked everyone in the cabinet for their immense contributions to working with him. He also acknowledged that working with him is difficult. Those who have endured specially thanked them. The reason is simply he always insists on the best for Rivers State.

We have done well as a team. Luckily for us, we did not have the opportunity of anybody handing over documents to us. In fact, it was difficult to get parade vehicles. We had to borrow vehicles from the Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko. It was indeed a difficult time as he couldn’t move into the Government house until after a year. Everything was looted down to the interiors in the government house.

We thank God the Governor-Elect is part of this government. So, we are going to hand over successfully to the incoming Governor. I’m sure everybody is happy to go back home without being stoned. We are not looters! No local government in the state has not benefitted from this administration. So, you can go home and thank God you are part if the team that brought Rivers State up to this status.

Be a Proud Rivers Man or Woman, anywhere and anytime.

Lastly, the outgoing Governor Wike especially thanks you, everyone. So, no more blood pressure again.
