The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal commenced its pre-hearing on the petition filed by aggrieved candidates on Monday, May 8 2023.
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, filed a case to nullify Tinubu’s victory.
In the 2023 election held on 25th February 2023, Ahmed Bola Tinubu was the winner of the election, and this cause a stir among other candidates.
The opposition party candidates, Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku of the People’s Democratic Party, through their lawyers, have filed a suit challenging the results of the election.
The Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, has alleged that APC rigged the election in favour of its candidate.
Justices who will be presiding over the petitions are:
- Justice Harua Tsammani
- Justice Stephen Adah
- Justice Misilura Bolaji Yusuf
- Justice Abbas Mohammed.
Justice Haruna Tsammani, who leads the five-man panel, has assured all parties involved of getting justice.
