The National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Professor Ahmed Rufai Alkali, has called on voters to elect candidates who are mentally and physically fit for the presidency in the upcoming elections.
In an interview with journalists at the party’s national secretariat, Professor Alkali encouraged Nigerians to consider his party’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as a viable alternative to both the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates.
Responding to rumors of a possible discussion between Kwankwaso and PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar, Alkali dismissed the speculation as baseless and emphasized his party’s readiness to disrupt the plans of the APC and PDP.
“We want to spoil it for them by winning the election and giving the country a new lease on life,” Alkali said. “This election is a golden opportunity for Nigerians to choose their next president, and we in the NNPP are confident that people will vote for capacity, character, and competency.”
He cautioned voters against electing sick and elderly candidates, stressing the importance of electing leaders who are in good health and capable of performing their duties.
The NNPP plans to conclude its campaign rallies with a mega rally in Kaduna on Thursday.
