Kayode Fayemi left EFCC custody after interrogation. The former governor of Ekiti State has left Ilorin, the zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC). He was interrogated over an alleged money laundering and misappropriation of public funds while he was in office. The invitation followed the petition written against him by Ekiti Patriotic Consultative Forum.

The Petitioners made twelve allegations against the former Governor. Some of them include:

The former governor subsequently went thorough interrogation on the allegation. One of the projects under probe is this Agro-Allied Ekiti International Airport, inaugurated in the twilight of his administration last year. Before Kayode Fayemi left EFFC custody, he expressed his willingness to cooperate fully with the EFCC if there is a need for further clarification.

In a statement by Fayemi’s media aide, Ahmed Sajo, the former insisted the petition was frivolous and described the petitioners as anti-Feyemi politicians trying to soil his name and image.
