The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has adjourned till the 18th of May in the hearing of the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seeking a live broadcast of the proceedings. The All Progressive Congress (APC) is seeking to dismiss the petition filed by the PDP and strike out the PDP’s reply to its preliminary objection.
According to the TVC News broadcast, Chris Uche (SAN), counsel to the PDP, confirms that the party have met and harmonised the vital areas of the pre-hearing session. He noted that the party has agreed to set up a team to go through various documents to eliminate objections while tending documents from the bar. Also, the PDP noted that it has one pending motion, which the respondents are yet to reply to. The party has agreed to file responses/motions and resume the pre-hearing session by 18th May.
Counsel to INEC confirms the submission by the counsel to the Petition but noted it has filled application seeking to strike out certain paragraphs in the PDP petition. The Counsel to the President-Elect and APC confirms this resolution. The tribunal subsequently adjourns till 18th May.
