Celebrities targeted for their political leanings

Popular actor and producer, Toyin Abraham, has cried out against harassments she has received since declaring her support for the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu. Peter Obi’s supporters, popularly known as Obidients, have been accused by many of attacking people who do not support their candidates online.

In her tweet which has received over 22 thousand likes, Toyin Abraham implored Nigerians to “Stop bullying people for their choices” while reasserting her support for Tinubu by the hashtag #asiwajubaby.

In another tweet, she declared that “It is no more Democracy if you don’t allow people to make their decision freely. Everyone can not see things from your own angle ONLY. Bullying, harassing and threatening people’s life because they disagree with you on personal choice shouldn’t be encouraged at all.”

In support of her tweet, comedian and skit maker popularly known as Mr. Macaroni, declared support for Ms. Abraham while stating that he, himself, has been cyber-bullied for his support for Peter Obi. In a series of tweets, he has also threatened legal actions against his bullies through his lawyers, Falana & Falana.
