In an exclusive interview granted to reporters from Channels TV, Rivers state governor Nyeesom Wike was given a chance to respond to comments made by the Labour party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi saying that “in Rivers, the Governor came out against me, if the real votes are counted, it would be clear that I won by over fifty per cent.”
The soon-to-be ex-governor said he took exception to Peter Obi’s claims of aggression against him, saying, “people should be more grateful. I was part of the team that chose peter Obi in 2019 as Vice presidential candidate for Atiku Abubakar.”
The Governor said even back then; he had stood up for Obi despite resistance from top political figures like the Governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi and Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu
This, he said to imply no bad blood between him and the former Governor.
