Tonye Cole, APC Gubernatorial aspirant, had been demanding access to the Certified True Copies of the election results from INEC but has since been denied. He spoke of massive rigging in the just concluded election and sought this to prove his case but to no avail. Even recently, the gubernatorial candidate spoke of being assaulted while in pursuit of this.
Outgoing Governor Nyeesom Wike strenuously denied claims of rigging. Alluding to the victory of the PDP in Rivers State to the fulfilment of campaign promises.
The governor said:
“ When we provide this kind of facilities for the people, they still wonder why we were voted for. If politicians can fulfill the promises that they made, Nigeria would have been a better place”
Governor Wike mocked the APC aspirant for going to INEC himself, he said “Don’t mind those wasting their time crying on television. Have you seen where a candidate will go to INEC to request CTC? What are your lawyers for? People need to are the truth that they lost the election”
