Reno Omokri, a political commentator and supporter of Atiku Abubakar, has joined the conversation surrounding the alleged leaked conversation between the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and Living Faith Church General Overseer, David Oyedepo. The leaked audio allegedly has Obi requesting Oyedepo’s support for the upcoming election, which Obi reportedly called a “religious war.”
Since the leaked audio surfaced, Omokri has taken to Twitter to make japes about Obi’s actions. He has also questioned why Obi’s running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has not commented on the matter. Omokri noted that Baba-Ahmed is typically vocal and appears on multiple TV stations to share his opinions. However, since the audio was leaked, Baba-Ahmed has been uncharacteristically silent.
The Labour Party, Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates have yet to respond directly to the leaked audio. Instead, their substitutes have issued statements on their behalf.
