Uche Secondus Doubts Wike’s Ability to Swing Rivers Votes for Tinubu

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has expressed his confidence that no amount of intimidation from Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, will stop the party’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, from winning in the state. Despite Wike’s refusal to work for Abubakar, Secondus claims that the party has gone to the grassroots of Rivers State to canvass for support. According to Secondus, no amount of Wike’s magic and intimidation will be able to swing the votes of Rivers people to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Wednesday of Arise Television’s Morning Show programme, Secondus noted that the governor and his team have changed from their presidential candidate, even though he had initially promised to support the PDP. This has not gone down well with the grassroots, as the Rivers people have been voting for the PDP since 1999. Secondus explained that the party has been working hard to go to the grassroots and reach out to people who will vote on election day. They are not depending on anyone’s ego or preferences.

According to Secondus, the people are convinced they will vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the PDP on election day. No amount of intimidation or attempts to swing votes to the APC candidate will work. The difference between Atiku Abubakar and Bola Ahmed Tinubu is clear. Secondus believes that Atiku has done much for the Rivers people while Tinubu has not.

Secondus emphasised that these issues are critical and are in Rivers’ and Nigerians’ minds. He expressed his confidence that the PDP will emerge victorious in the state and urged Nigerians to vote for Atiku Abubakar and the PDP. Despite Wike’s lack of support, the PDP remains hopeful and committed to winning the election in Rivers State.
