The campaign convoy of Jonathan Asake, the Kaduna state LP governorship candidate was attacked by thugs in Gidan Waya, Jema’a LGA of Kaduna State, on Friday.
According to a statement by James Swam, media aide to Asake, the incident left four youths injured. Fortunately, no vehicle was damaged during the attack.
The attack occurred while the campaign convoy was passing through Gidan Waya during Friday prayers en route to Godogodo and other towns as part of its tour of the local government. Thugs began to throw stones and sticks to the convoys vehicles after passing old tyres used to restrict movement.
Thankfully, the security personnel attached to the candidate intervened to prevent the situation from escalating into a crisis.
