The North deserves The Senate Presidency – Garba

Former APC Presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba granted on Arise Tv today. In the interview, he argued that the northwest deserved to produce the next senate president of Nigeria as compensation for delivering the most votes to President-Elect Bola Tinubu.

He said,” It is high time we reward performance, it’s high time we reward competence and to pay attention to the zone of influence in all our appointments. The moment you zone appointments to places with failure, you’re incentivizing failure. Why would you give the Southeast for instance, which gave us only 1.5 percent of their votes the Senate presidency? When the north gave us 30 percent?”

He said rewarding the Northwest with the Senate presidency guaranteed their votes in future elections. To the argument, that both President-Elect and Vice President were Muslims, He said,”He said northwest is a zone and in national assembly politics we don’t have anything like religion. It is something that has to do with the zone of power. You need to look at these zones and you have to appreciate the key performance indicators that gave us the win and incentivize them”
