Adamu Garba, a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a supporter of the APC party, recently took to Twitter to express his opinion on the ongoing Lagos governorship election. In a series of tweets (), he claimed that this was the most peaceful election in the country’s history.
Garba, who is currently in Lagos to observe the proceedings, accused “online mercenaries” of trying to cause trouble and create chaos to disrupt the election. He dismissed state violence and unrest reports, stating that “everywhere is peaceful” ().
Despite the proliferation of social media videos showing violence and unrest incidents, Garba urged Nigerians to disregard them and come out to vote. He emphasised the need to maintain peace and order during the election and to uphold the integrity of the democratic process.
