Olumide Oworu, the Labour Party candidate for the state House of Assembly, posted a statement to his supporters on his Twitter page Despite the violence and electoral irregularities, he thanked his supporters for sticking by him.
He spoke about the electoral glitch of his name not being on the ballot. He said,
“regarding the authenticity of my candidacy and my name not appearing on the ballot, that is INEC’s fault due to their failure to comply with the subsisting judgement of the Federal High Court, wherein INEC was ordered to open her website to allow labour party submit her list of candidates or accept the same manually immediately.”
He urged his supporters not to give up hope. He asked that they continue to work together to build a better nation where justice and fairness prevail.
