Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu assured Igbo traders of their safety and security during a campaign tour of significant markets in the state ahead of the gubernatorial election. Sanwo-Olu was welcomed at an open forum organised by the Auto Spare Parts And Machinery Dealers Association (ASPAMDA) in Trade Fair Complex, Ojo. He met with Igbo traders across 58 major markets under the Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association.

The governor also interacted with traders in the famous Computer Village in Ikeja.

During the engagements, Sanwo-Olu pledged to ensure the safety of the businesses and properties of Ndigbo in Lagos State. Sanwo-Olu also reassured them that Lagos would always be a melting pot for all Nigerians. His administration would continue to promote peaceful coexistence among all ethnic nationalities in the state.

The ASPAMDA President, Chief Ngozi Emechebe, described Sanwo-Olu as “a true friend of Igbo” and pledged the support of the Ndigbo community for his re-election.

Sanwo-Olu thanked the traders for their support and assured them of his government’s commitment to their prosperity. He also highlighted his administration’s infrastructure projects, such as the completion of expressways and bridges, the approval for the development of the Badagry Seaport, and the award of a rail project into Okokomaiko to aid the movement of people and goods.
