Sanwo-Olu Gains Strong Support from Lagos’ Christian Community: A Boost for Election Campaign

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Lagos State has endorsed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term, citing his exceptional performance in the last four years. The leaders of the PFN spoke at an emergency meeting held in Ikeja, where they called on all Christians to vote for Sanwo-Olu on March 11.

At the meeting were top officials of the PFN, including the Chairman, Secretary, and other leaders such as Apostle Enyinnaya Okwuonu, Pastor Mahmood Akindejoye, and Bishop Theophilus Ajose. Speaking on behalf of the group, Bishop Ajose noted that the church requested a Christian governor, and Governor Sanwo-Olu had delivered his promises to Lagosians without any religious bias.

Ajose said, “This gubernatorial election is not about any political party but the candidate. Mr Sanwo-Olu has made Christians very proud and governed the state without religious bias. He is one of us, and the Church is speaking with one voice that Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu deserves our support again.” He also called on leaders across different religious divides, including Pentecostals, Orthodox, OAIC, Muslims, spiritual, and Christian organisations, to support the candidacy of Mr Sanwo-Olu.

In his remarks, PFN State Chairman, Apostle Enyinnaya Okwuonu, reiterated that the PFN is not partisan and without prejudice to other contestants but noted that Sanwo-Olu deserves a second term to complete the good works he has started in Lagos. The PFN scribe, Apostle Akindejoye, urged Christians to unite and support Sanwo-Olu’s second-term bid.

The endorsement by the PFN is expected to significantly boost Sanwo-Olu’s campaign, particularly among Christian voters who make up a substantial percentage of the electorate in Lagos State. With just a few days to the election, the governor leaves no stone unturned in his bid to secure a second term in office.

In conclusion, the PFN’s endorsement of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s candidacy is a testament to his outstanding performance in the last four years. The governor’s efforts to improve the lives of Lagosians without religious bias have earned him the support of the Christian community in Lagos. As the election draws closer, it remains to be seen whether Sanwo-Olu can secure another victory and continue his work of transforming Lagos State.
