Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has expressed his desire for the next Governor of Rivers State. His Expectation includes prioritising investment over infrastructure development. Ahead of the gubernatorial election scheduled for Saturday, Dokubo made this known during an interview on Arise Television’s The Morning Show on Wednesday.
Dokubo emphasised that he wants the next Governor to focus on investing the state’s wealth in the economy of Rivers State. Such investment will help to create wealth and make the people stronger. He stated that he does not want to see a Governor who solely builds flyovers or skyscrapers without investing in the people.
The former militant leader further highlighted the importance of providing a conducive education and skill-acquisition environment. According to him, tertiary education in Rivers State does not adequately prepare graduates for employment. He wants the next Governor to invest in building a skilled workforce.
