Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that political parties have submitted 1,574,301 party polling unit agents and 68,057 collation agents.
The All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, and New Nigeria Peoples Party are among the parties that submitted the highest number of polling units and collation agents. INEC stated that the APC deployed 176,223 party polling unit agents and 9,581 collation agents, while the PDP and NNPP each submitted 176,558 and 176,200 party polling unit agents, respectively, with 9,539 and 9,604 collation agents.
Kano State had the highest number of party polling unit agents, with 145,393 agents deployed, followed by Lagos with 98,646 agents and Rivers with 79,795 agents.
While 27 agents will be stationed at the National Collation Centre, the APGA and ZLP parties have no agents attached to the NCC. Meanwhile, A, AA, ADC, APC, APM, APP, LP, NRM, PDP, and YPP have two party agents attached to the NCC, while the other parties have only one.
