Peter Obi’s Supporter Chude Alleges SARS Brutality.

Chude Nnamdi, a popular supporter of the Labour Party with the handle @chude_, recently spoke after his release from police custody. Nigerian Police arrested him during the state election in Onitsha, Anambra State, on March 18, 2023, and taken to Abuja for questioning.

He thanked numerous individuals, including @PeterObi, @SamAmadi, @valentineozigbo, @obyezeks, and @FrankNwekeII, for their efforts to secure his release.

In his Twitter post, Chude disclosed that Awkuzu Sars assaulted him during detention. He stated that he was unjustly accused of planning to overthrow the government.

Despite being a young person who merely wished to voice his opinion, he was thrown into the boot of a waiting car with cuffs.

Upon arriving at Awkuzu SARS, he was “manhandled, ruffled and treated like a common criminal”. Despite this, he appreciated the OC Awkuzu Sars for stepping in to stop the abuse.

He also praised the Cybercrime unit of Interpol, which he said represented the finest version of the Nigerian Police and demonstrated exceptional brilliance.

Chude called for the Nigerian Police to be insulated from political interference – political actors. He also stressed the importance of the voices of young people and their demands for a better deal in the country. He concluded by stating that his experience from arrest to detention was “unpalatable, unpleasant, and unjust.”

In his own words, Chude said:

“It is important to state clearly that the voices of young people cannot be silenced. We will continue to demand for a better deal in our country, and we will contain to clamour for good governance and strong institutions.”
