Peter Obi Hits Back at Keyamo: “I Didn’t Run to Make Tinubu President

Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi dismissed claims that he helped Bola Tinubu win the recently concluded presidential election. Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show(), Obi refuted a remark made by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, who claimed that Obi was a means to an end for Tinubu’s victory.

Obi clarified that he engaged in the presidential election with the intention of winning and not to help Tinubu’s emergence. He emphasised that winning an election means winning the people and that if one hasn’t won the people, they haven’t indeed won.

Obi stated, “Democracy is the government for the people, and if you have not won the people, it means you have not won, and this is what we are challenging because the declared winner did not win.” He further maintained that he has never asked anyone to rig the election for him and never will.
