Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, expressed his dismay on Twitter over the cries of the Nasarawa women who had gone naked in protest over the recently concluded gubernatorial elections.
Mr Obi said that the purpose of elections was to “give citizens a chance to participate in democratic governance, through representatives they elect”
He said a grievous injustice occurs when citizens are denied the opportunity to vote in an free and fair election.
The ex-governor wrapped up his thread of tweets with this: “Our women who should be honoured and respected, and their rights protected, have been degraded and left to seek justice the only way they can trust by calling on their creator.”
