Recently, an audio conversation got leaked online. The participants were allegedly Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and Living Faith Church General Overseer David Oyedepo. The contents of their conversation have many seeing the presidential candidate unflatteringly, and many called him out for religious bigotry.
Reno Omokri, a political commentator in the wake of all this, has suggested that the court proceedings would not favour Obi. He noted that this recording had damaged Peter Obi’s reputation so that given the opportunity to run again, the Labour Party aspirant would still not win.
He said, “Seriously, Peter Obi is wasting his time at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. Even if the Tribunal orders a rerun, he will get fewer votes than on February 25, 2023. Not only has he destroyed himself, but he has also set back his region!”
