Obi Endorses Slash Of Nomination fee

Peter Obi, has commended the party leadership for agreeing to refund the nomination form fee to the family of Anumudu. Chief Humphrey Anumudu had acquired the party’s Imo state governorship interest form for N25 million. He passed away last Friday after attending a meeting at the national headquarters in Abuja.

LP National Chairman Julius Abure announced that as a “gesture of empathy and compassion”, the party will refund the N25 million nomination fee paid by Anumudu to his immediate family. Abure emphasized that empathy is a core value of the opposition party and that it was essential to support Anumudu’s family in their time of need.

During a meeting with the party’s National Assembly-elect members in Abuja, Abure confirmed the refund, and Obi expressed his appreciation on Twitter.

He praised the party leadership for agreeing to refund the cost of the form to Anumudu’s family. Also to repay N10 million to each of the governorship aspirants who had paid N25 million for the form.

Obi added that these gestures reflect the Labour Party’s responsiveness to the needs of Nigerians.
