National Reconciliation: Next President’s Priority.

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on the next administration to prioritize national moral rearmament and reconciliation. He said this to address the division caused by the recently concluded general elections.

Obasanjo stressed the need for unconventional thinking to rescue the country from its collapsing economy and high national debt burden. He emphasized that political action and administrative efforts were required to transform the public service into a capable unit.

Patrick Okigbo, Founder Partner of Nextier SPD, supported Obasanjo’s views. He stated that electoral pledges could only be realized if the responsible public servants changed. Obasanjo reiterated that the next administration must urgently facilitate the process of national moral rearmament and reconciliation for the aggrieved and to assuage the youth.

In his words:

“Given what we saw during the election, Nigeria is now even more divided and more corroded than we thought. This places a deep onus on any administration following the current one, to urgently facilitate the process of national moral rearmament and national reconciliation for the aggrieved and will lead us across Nigeria and to assuage the youth.”

Obasanjo’s call for national moral rearmament and reconciliation is critical for Nigeria’s progress and development. The incoming administration needs to heed his advice and take proactive steps toward promoting national unity and reconciliation.
