National Interest First: Security Expert to DSS

Kabiru Adamu, a seasoned security risk management and intelligence executive, has said in an interview on channels tv that depending on who the conspirators of the plot to install an interim government, the DSS may have to explore other options outside arrest or any outright punitive move.

He said, “There are certain individuals in this country that if you were going to arrest them, because of who they represent and what they do, it’s not just a government department that can go ahead and affect that arrest. It would gather its evidence, present it to the coordinators within the intelligence space, and then request approval. I know that in the past, sometimes those requests would be denied because of the consequences.”

The Security expert said statecraft was required to keep the nation unified. The DSS would show a person in a position like that already obtained proof to deter them from further actions as it would easily prove detrimental to them swiftly.
