Former US President, Donald J Trump has been arraigned in court. He recently pleaded “Not Guilty” to 34 felony criminal charges of falsifying business records in Manhattan criminal court Tuesday afternoon.
This is the first time a US president has ever been arrested and as such has generated an unprecedented amount of attention. Yesterday at a conference in Maralago, Florida the former President spoke on his arrest and arraignment. He said:
“The only crime I ever committed was fearlessly defend our nation against those who would seek to destroy it. The Democrats spied on my campaign. They attacked me with an onslaught of fraudulent investigations.”
He spoke about the accusations of collusion with Russia and calls for his impeachment. Trump also spoke about the raid on his Maralago property which he called “illegal and unconstitutional”
Mr. Trump said while the authorities were pursuing him, they were colluding with the Democrats to hide evidence like President Joe Biden’s son’s laptop which contained evidence of wrongdoing, which Trump accused the Democrats and Twitter of burying.
Trump alleges that if the evidence had not been suppressed he would have won the election. Speaking on the entire matter Mr. Trump said “This has been a persecution, not an investigation and it has cost millions of dollars to defend”
