Max Air Crashes at Abuja Airport, from Yola.

The aircraft landed in Abuja on Sunday, May 7, due to a wrong landing. The tyres of the plane got busted and caught up in flames.

When the incident happened, the plane had arrived from Yola, Adamawa state.

According to an eyewitness, “We have noticed the pull out of the tire right from the airport in Yola, and we went on into a prayer session”.

However, an airline official, in a statement, has confirmed the tragic event and assured that measures have been taken to ensure that proper care is given to the passengers. He said that the passengers had been evacuated safely and no life was lost.

“We are pleased to report that all passengers and crew on board the aircraft are safe and sound. The airline has taken all necessary steps to ensure that the passengers are comfortable and are being taken care of during this time,” the statement added.

“Their luggage and belongings have been conveyed to the arrival terminal.

“The aircraft tires are being replaced, and the aircraft will taxi to the ramp for further investigations before being released for future flights”.

An investigation is currently ongoing to ascertain the cause of the cause, although the runway is temporarily on lockdown.
