MASSOB – NO Sit-at-home: Calls to South East to Actively Participate in the Elections.

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has declared that there will be no sit-at-home or election boycott in the South-East region on Election Day. The pro-Biafra group called on Ndigbo to ignore such calls and participate actively in the forthcoming elections. It warned against a repeat of the Imo State debacle where, according to it, a governor imposed against the people’s will.

MASSOB advised its members to go out on Election Day and vote for their preferred candidates. The group insisted that while they continued to pursue the restoration of the Independent State of Biafra, the South-East region would not be in a vacuum. It also urged Ndigbo to vote for candidates who would not sell out their interests for financial gains.

The National Director of Information of MASSOB, Samuel Edeson, issued a statement on Wednesday saying, “There shall be no sit-at-home on the days of elections…Do not allow anybody to deceive you in the name of Biafra because we know the real Biafra agitators and those paid to create confusion in our land.”

According to MASSOB, some enemies of Ndigbo have bought over some of their brothers and brainwashed them to work against their own people. The group alleged that these enemies have been killing their people, destroying their economy, and making life difficult.

As the group pursued the restoration of Biafra, MASSOB stressed that it would not allow Igbo land to remain in a vacuum. That is why the group urged Ndigbo to come out en mass on Election Day and vote for their preferred candidates. It also warned against any group or person claiming that there would be no election in Biafra land, stating that such groups are enemies of Ndigbo and should be disregarded.

In conclusion, MASSOB has directed all its members to go out and vote for its candidates on Election Day. The call for active participation in elections is necessary to avoid their enemies’ imposition of leaders on the people. By coming out to vote, Ndigbo can exercise their rights to choose leaders who will serve their interests and not those of their enemies.
