INEC’s Response to PDP’s Claim on ICT Head in Lagos.

INEC has addressed claims that it appointed a biased politician to lead its ICT department in Lagos for the upcoming State elections. Chief Olabode George, a former deputy national chairman of the PDP, demanded that INEC’s Director of ICT, Mr Femi Odubiyi, be removed due to his perceived bias.

Festus Okoye explained that INEC’s ICT Personnel are career officers who have never held a political appointment in any political appointments in any state. He also explained that Femi Odubiyi does not exist in the commission’s ICT Department.

In light of the allegations, INEC has urged the public to disregard the report. It is crucial to note that appointing biased individuals to positions of authority in the electoral process could compromise the integrity of the election. Therefore, INEC’s assurance that its ICT staff are impartial is essential in upholding public trust in the electoral process.
