The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, through the commission’s verified Twitter handle, has advised voters to familiarize themselves with their respective polling units in advance of the commencement of the elections on February 25, 2023.
He also advised voters to confirm their polling units by visiting the website of INEC or via SMS to 09062830860 or 09062830861. The SMS should contain the name of the voter’s state, voter’s last name and the last six digits of the voters Voters Identification Number (VIN).
The Chairman also stated that in order to ease the process, persons whose polling units have changed would receive SMS and that information around the election would also be circulated in local languages.
