He explained that he maintained the position of the Southern governor throughout his political adventure. He provided logistics for Obi during the presidential campaign but refused to provide even a campaign ground for Atiku Abubakar. Atiku Abubakar is the presidential candidate of his own Peoples Democratic Party.

He stated that all his decisions concerning the 2023 presidential elections were based on his convictions and that he did not rig the presidential election against Obi.

At the meeting, the Ohaneze delegation engaged Wike over his alleged actions against Obi during the presidential election. They expressed their disappointment and urged him to picture what would have been the outcome of the election if he had supported Obi.

The delegation was on a fact-finding mission, highlighting the cordial relationship between the people of the Southeast of Nigeria and those of Rivers while questioning how an Ikwerre man would work against the Igbo presidency.
