Herdsmen Invasion: Gbadebo Criticizes APC Leaders

The Governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has criticized politicians who claim that Lagos solely belongs to the Yoruba people. Rhodes-Vivour, who is half Igbo, is gaining acceptance among non-Yoruba residents of Lagos State.

In a recent appearance on a Channels Television program, Rhodes-Vivour spoke out against politicians who aim to segregate the state’s inhabitants for their gain. He noted that Lagos State has been in harmony for a long time and that politicians are the ones who try to divide people.

Rhodes-Vivour criticized APC stakeholders, including former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, who insist that Lagos only belongs to the Yoruba people.

This view contradicts the notion that Lagos is a no man’s land.

According to Rhodes-Vivour, many Lagos politicians stayed silent during the Fulani herder’s invasion of Oyo State and were quiet on the issue of Amotekun. He accused them of playing politics and putting their political interests above the interests of the Yoruba people. Rhodes-Vivour emphasized that such politicians are only concerned about their political alliances with the North.

He added, “And suddenly, it is election time, and they remind you that this person does not speak Yoruba.”
