Former Minister of Culture and Tourism of Nigeria Femi Fani Kayode tweeted today in a verbose tweet to “set records straight” on a few points of history concerning the family of the Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour GRV.
the former Minister contradicted claims made by the LP candidate of his family’s pedigree. He said the claim that GRV’s grandfather was the third Nigerian to become a judge or magistrate.
He also said, “Rhodes Vivour’s grandfather, Akinwunmi Rhodes Vivour, was very junior to these men.
He was not appointed as a magistrate until almost twenty years after Jibowu in 1950. Likewise, he never went to any University before being called to the Bar, and not appointed as a Judge until 1964. He descended from a family of Sierra Leonian slaves.”
