Festus Keyamo Petitions Court Against Obi and Datti

APC spokesperson Festus Keyamo SAN has petitioned the courts to rein in the conducts and utterances of Obi and Datti. He alleges their incitement is a treasonable felony. He said his principal’s call for peace and national healing was not a sign of weakness.

Datti Baba-Ahmed, was on news channels yesterday to say that Bola Tinubu should not be sworn in. Swearing-in of Bola Tinubu would be “unconstitutional” and tantamount to a military coup, “the death of democracy” he called it.

Of course, it was only a matter of time before the opposition responded. In the petition, Festus said,

“these comments and claims are made, not just within the boundaries of exercising their rights to freedom of speech and the freedom to air grievances publicly, but have since crossed the line to call for the outright truncation of democracy.”

The SAN accused Datti of subliminally threatening mayhem if the president-elect Bola Tinubu is sworn in. He also accused the pair of labour party candidates of

“camping youths in a hotel with the sole aim of pushing out inciting messages every day on social media to cause panic and fear within the federation.”

We wait to see how the court will respond to his petitions.
