Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka challenged the Labour Party Vice-Presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed. A challenge that the Labour Party has promptly turned down, stating political and cultural reasons.
Former minister of culture and tourism, Femi Fani-Kayode, also a spokesperson for the APC, said, “Expecting Dati to debate with Kongi is like expecting a village idiot to debate with the Pres. of the Oxford or Cambridge Union. “
The spokesman went on to say that even at age 88, the vice-presidential candidate was no match for Professor Soyinka.
“Even at the age of 88, in seconds, the Nobel Laureate would remove the Taureg’s pants, make him cry like a baby& send him back to Mauritania.” He mocked.
