Calling Obi a Tribalist/Bigot is either ignorance or mischief – Kenneth Okonkwo

The 2023 elections were incredibly polarized along the lines of tribe and religion. Many candidates have been seen appealing to voters based on these sentiments.

For instance, president-elect Bola Tinubu popularized the phrase “Emi lo kan” which means “it’s my turn” in a speech about it being the turn of the Yorubas at the helm of the country’s affairs.

Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesperson for the Labour party said that in this his principal is unique. He says the love for Obi cuts across tribes and religions. This was proved by the massive votes he accrued despite being in a relatively unknown party. Those accusing Obi of religious bigotry had to be up to mischief.

Mr Okonkwo alleged that in the face of the massive love, Obi had garnered and his mission to reclaim his stolen mandate, the ruling party would not hesitate to stoop to any level to discredit him with “useless and baseless allegations”

The Actor said that the “Obidient movement” wasn’t THE one fueled by propaganda but by character and honesty as embodied by Peter Obi.

He called out the spokesperson for the APC, Festus Keyamo as “a cheap, deceitful propagandist.”

He said,

“We are in this movement to uproot the structure of criminality and corruption which you and your drug baron, INEC imposed principal symbolize.”
