Ekene Enefe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and head of contact mobilization in the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, he alleged that political parties brought in hackers from Russia and Israel to manipulate the outcome of the 2023 elections. Enefe made this revelation during a live appearance on Arise Television. He stated that political parties who didn’t win the seat of the presidency had chosen to cling to the electronic transmission of results as a reason for kicking against the outcome of the election, saying they already knew they were losing.
Enefe revealed that each party had a situation room and already knew the results, but they wanted to cling to something. He explained that the political parties wanted to cling to transmitting the results to the portal. However, they had no idea how often the INEC server was hacked and attacked by political parties that flew in Russian and Israel. They did this to hack into INEC servers and transmit the result to create chaos. However, none of them succeeded, which is why the election, to the best of Enefe’s knowledge, was not transmitted on the INEC server.
The Labour Party, the people’s democratic party, and other political parties’ agents stormed out of the National Collation Centre on Monday during the collation of the presidential election results at the International Conference Centre in Abuja. They complained that the results presented by INEC were not uploaded on the commission’s Results Viewing Portal (IReV), as repeatedly promised by the electoral umpire. The aggrieved parties and their presidential candidates have since pledged to challenge the election result, which produced Bola Tinubu, the APC candidate, as the president-elect in court. As of Friday, INEC had uploaded 155,472 results from 176,846 polling units, representing only 88 per cent of results from all the polling units. INEC declared Tinubu of the APC as the President-elect on Wednesday after polling 8,794,726 votes to win the 2023 presidential election.
