The All Progressives Congress (APC) is not backing down but is readying itself for the legal battle ahead; defending the mandate of its presidential candidate, Tinubu, they have released a thirteen-man list to confront the challenging party’s candidate in the court.
They (APC) took to Twitter today to list 12 Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) to meet the opposition parties perturbed with the results of the February 25th election in court.
NEWSEDUP had earlier reported that flagbearers of the Labour Party’s Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, had voiced disagreement with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its Proclamation of APC’s Tinubu as the winner of the election.
Both believe they won the election and have sworn to prove it in Court.
APC has since shown interest in meeting the aggrieved parties in court. In a statement on Tuesday, the party’s National Legal Adviser, Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq, released the 13-man list comprising 12 senior advocates.
Topping the list is a legal legend, Lateef Fagbemi(SAN), who has been chosen as lead counsel to APC at the Presidential Election Tribunal.
