Accept Defeat: Senator Bent Advises Atiku and Obi.

Senator Grace Bent from Adamawa South has appealed to Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria, and his counterpart from the Labour Party, Peter Obi, to accept their defeat in the recent presidential election in good faith. In a statement issued on Saturday in Yola, Bent congratulated the newly elected President, Senator Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, for their victory.

Bent believes that challenging the widely accepted and credible election result through legal proceedings will only distract from the leadership process and delay the country’s growth. She emphasised that the presidential election results accurately reflect the honest votes of Nigerians. Therefore, there is no need for Atiku and Obi to waste their time and resources on legal battles. In her view, pursuing such legal action would be an exercise in futility with no positive impact on the judiciary and democratic systems.

Bent expressed her support for the new administration and its leadership style. She believes the new ticket will unite the nation and move Nigeria forward. According to her, the leadership style of newly elected leaders will be more effective than those who approach politics from a selfish, religious perspective.
