Breaking: Quincy Promes has been sentenced to prison for stabbing his cousin. Quincy Anton Promes is a Dutch professional footballer who is a forward for the Russian Premier League Spartak Moscow club.
The ex-Netherlands international, Quincy Promes, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for assaulting his cousin.
The incident happened at a family party in July 2020, but Promes has denied committing the crime, although there was no sufficient evidence to prove if he did. However, two eyewitnesses testified against him with enough evidence and intercepted a phone conversation to write down a prison term.
Promes, 31, has been ordered to pay the victim a compensation fee of €7,000(£6,000).
According to the report, Promes is suspected to be involved in smuggling over 600 kilos of cocaine.
If he sets foot in Europe, this would lead to an instant arrest, and he might risk facing a heavier prison sentence. Although the investigation is ongoing.
