Charles, Crowned as the King of Britain

Charles, formally known as The Prince of Wales and his wife, Camilla, are officially crowned the King and Queen of the United Kingdom.

Hundreds of guests from different countries graced the coronation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

Charles acceded to the throne on the 8th of September, 2022, upon the death of his mother, Elizabeth II.

During his coronation, Charles swore upon a Bible to govern the people with justice and mercy. His Majesty also prays for the grace to be “a blessing to all”.

Archbishop of Canterbury anointed King Charles as part of the coronation after wearing the St. Edwards Crown. After this, Camilla was anointed and crowned as the Queen.

Charles is the 40th Monarch of Britain since 1953. His wife, Camilla, became the 29th Queen after the dismissal of Queen Elizabeth II.
The congregation and members of the Royal family have pledged allegiance to the king, to be loyal and always bow to him.

At the end of the event, Charles and Camilla proceeded to the west door while the national anthem, “God save the King”.
