A newborn baby is said to have been abandoned beside Mideno in the Ntefinki quarter in Nkwen, Bamenda, North West region of Cameron. A good citizen found the baby in the early hours of Thursday, May 4, 2023, with a handwritten letter beside him.
According to a source, “The person found the newborn baby around 6:00 am. He was taken to the Health centre after notifying the quarter head and other authorities. As confirmed, the bay is doing well in health”.
The letter, alleged to be from the newborn’s mother, explained why she has taken this painful decision.
She wrote the letter to plead with anyone that will get hold of the child to take good care of him. Also, revealed basic details of the baby: a boy and his name.
In the letter, the assumed mother of the newborn said she is am sorry she had to do this. She had no other choice because she want her child to live a happy life. She further said she has nothing, no one to help me and nothing to start a small business that can sustain the her and the baby,” the note reads.
“Please help me take good care of him and I pray God bless and grant your heart desires. The baby’s name is Migael and he was born on the 26 April 2023. He has taken his first vaccine and is still to be circumcised. God bless you and your household,” She said.
